Antigua, May 11

After filling tires and filling more tires we decided to spend a weekend in Antigua, just round the corner from Comalapa (i.e. one and a half hours by chicken bus). The centre of Antigua is a bit like a big open-air museum with beautifully renovated colonial houses, so it’s not surprising that it’s THE tourist hotspot of Guatemala. We felt a bit lost between all the foreigners and despite hot showers and tasty (but expensive) international food we didn’t mind returning to Comalapa, the real Guatemala.
