Bye bye Xela, 26.3.11

big eyesToday we’re saying goodbye to the city that’s been our home for almost two months. After working and studying here we’re finally going travelling around the country for a few weeks. The time here has been full of experiences. We got to know a lot about Guatemalan culture, habits, ‘dos’ and don’ts’; by now we feel quite at home among the sometimes odd customs of the ‘chapines’ and we have been made very welcome by the extremely friendly and open local people.

The following pictures are of trips that haven’t been covered in previous blog entries (for example climbing volcano Santa María) or they are just snapshots taken during our stay in Xela. Enjoy!
